A trip to the city

Well, after the new year all of us decided to head down KL for a little trip. Just for a few days with great companions. There were around 15 of us who went down to meet up with the others. Few of us travelled by bus, Aeroline while the others drove down. Stayed in Casa Subang, it was really very packed to accommodate all of us in that four roomed apartment. But it was fun though, a memorable & fun experience. We did all the usuals, shopping, dining, drinking, clubbing etc.

Didn't take much pictures though, missed taking pictures of the others.

Shanghai - Day III

June '10

Second day at the expo! We didn't go to the expo site as early as the first day though.

Got to sleep till around 11am, then went for brunch @ 上海老饭店 Shanghai LaoFanDian. Apparently it is a famous restaurant in the city of Shanghai, which of course, serves Shanghai cuisine. Shopped a little after lunch and headed to the expo site by cab later on.

Stayed there till night, wanted to see the buildings with lights on. It was very different, prettier of course!

Well, not gona update about my forth day in Shanghai, visited the expo for the last day & not many pictures were taken.

After the forth day in Shanghai, we left for HongKong & stayed there for a night. Came back to Penang the following day.

So it was a Monday. Woke up soooo early, hoping that we wouldn't need to queue for a long time. Well, it seemed that others managed to get to the bus station/expo site earlier than us. Lol.

Took the Expo line bus, which brought us straight to the entrance of the expo site. All we did in the expo was queueing, visiting interesting pavilions and eating. Nothing much to elaborate.

The first pavilion that we've visited was the France Pavilion. Inside, it features the French culture, food and their way of life. Products of renown French brands, such as Louis Vuitton and Michelin tyres were also displayed in the pavilion.

Visited the UK Pavilion next, which was also one of my favourites. It is a six-storey high object formed from 60,000 transparent rods which extends from the inside of the structure to the outside! Inside every transparent rod, it contains seeds of different species of plants!

Of course, we continued visiting other pavilions. Skipped those which you have to queue for hours to get in, namely the German Pavilion, Italy Pavilion, Korea Pavilion, Saudi Arabia Pavilion etc.

F.y.i. one-to-two-hour queues were considered as SHORT queues, whereas the long queues were queues that were four to five hours long. Where do all these people come from?

Anyway, it was really tiring. The four of us had numb legs and muscle aches the next day..

Shanghai - Day I

June '10

Didn't visit the expo as it was a Sunday. Thought it'll be more packed during the weekends.

Instead, we did a little shopping and sight seeing. Went to 城隍庙, Chenghuang Miao or known as The City God Temple in English.

Walked around that area and visited a garden called the 豫园 Yu Garden. You can smell smelly tofu everywhere in Chenghuang Miao. The smell itself is terrible, I wonder how people could actually put it into their mouths. Eww.

Later we went to 田子坊 Tianzi Fang along 泰康路 Taikang Road. Taikang Road features a mix of old and refurbished brick houses. It is filled with art galleries, art studios, alfresco cafes boutiques and is also known as the Art Street. The blocks of houses were all divided by narrow lanes. *refer to picture below* Like that place very much, I wonder why isn't there such a place in Penang. Oh well..

After that, went to a big book store. Books there are sold so cheaply! Unfortunately, familiar books are all sold in the Mandarin versions, which would cause death if I read it. Lol. Found H&M in the city, did a little shopping. Happy! =p

Anyway, just gona update you guys a lil about what i've been up to for the past few months!

June '10

We had two weeks of school holiday, parents decided to visit the Shanghai Expo '10!

We'd like to see how it is compared to the previous one which we've visited 5 years back held in Nagoya.

Feels good though, after all the hustle and bustle, it was kind of a family-bonding session sort of trip.

So one Friday in June, Sis & I left for HongKong. Arrived there around noon, got home and dropped our luggage then out we went!

Headed KwaiFong again, for St. Alps. yum yum* After that shopped around that area.. usual places. In the evening, we headed home for a quick rest, then off to the airport to pick mom up after work. Had dinner in HKIA T2 w/ mom.

The next day, early in the morning, took a flight to Shanghai, dad meet us up at Shanghai Airport later on.

In Shanghai, went for some sightseeing the first day. Then, we visited the expo for the following three days.

Here's a birthday shout out to Joan! Happy legal Joan! ;p

Well it was a school day, went to school for my final mid term paper.

After school, got ready & left to Joan & Cleo's place. Headed Gurney for late lunch after that.

Shopped around Gurney and bought a mini dress! Teeheeh.

Left for home around 6pm, whereas Joan left w/ B. Attended German class till around 10pm.

Got home & got ready w/ Joan. Left for QE II for Hennessy Artistry '10.

The traffic was quite congested though. Especially areas with temples, it was Vesak Day eve.

Everyone had fun, I assume. Left QE II around 2am, & went to Green House otw home.

Die Kreuzfahrt auf der Queen Mary II

Die Donnerstagsgruppe hat eine Traumreise gemacht. Wir waren einen Monat auf der Queen Mary II. Wir haben eine Kreuzfahrt im Indischen Ozean gemacht. Es war gigantisch. Wir haben jeden Abend getanzt und sehr gut gegessen. Wir hatten erste Klasse Kabinen mit Blick auf das blaue Meer. Am Vormittag sind wir im Pool geschwommen und haben ein Sonnenbad genommen. Am Nachmittag haben wir Wein und Käse in der Bar gegessen. Es war wunderbar. Die Malaysian German Society hat alles bezahlt. Es war eine Studienreise. Plötzlich bin wir aufgewacht. Wir waren im unseren Bett. Es war nur ein Traum! Leider!!

I have nothing better to update about. Sorry readers if you don't understand. Hahah

My life's been pretty much f-up these days. Countable number of outings, none I would say. Lol*

Midyear exam is just around the corner, as in four more freaking days. Yes four. So classmates & I decided to study together-gether. Lol*

As usual, played tennis in the morning. Had BM replacement class after that.. Zzz*

Went to Temple of Fine Arts for Indian vegetarian buffet lunch. Don't quiet like the food there though.

In the afternoon, picked Adelyn & TingFeng from Gurney & headed Starbucks @ NWP. The weather was scorching hot. Argh.

Met up w/ SooYan there & YongShen came later in the evening. Studied & I find it more effective as compared to studying at home. Not so much of distraction e.g. Facebook, Msn, Tv, food etc.

Had our dinner in JamesFoo & dropped SooYan home after that.

Hah! This dead blog of mine.. Hmm, let's just say i've been kinda lazy/busy. Think I really need a camera, if not I will never update my blog.

Plus, it's my final year in high school, which is the deadly SPM year. *sick*

Life sucks when you have SPM you know, all you do is school-tuition-study-fb. Zzz*

Haven't really hung out w/ Loves since class started. Miss them ttmx!

Oh yea! I've gotten my driving license already, been driving my lau pok car, think it's almost 10 years old. Lol*

Saturday, 17th April '10

It was Grandma's birthday! Woke up early in the morning & went for tennis.

After that, drove Grandma & cousins to Genting to get some herbal medicine then went Gurney for lunch.

Later in the evening, drove cousins to Ritz, to get Grandma's cake & went home to get ready for our steamboat dinner.

After dinner, it rained cats & dogs. Thought I was gona miss Adelyn's birthday party at first but thank God the rain stopped so I dropped by Adelyn's place for awhile.

Around 12am, cousins picked me up & headed Batu Ferringhi, went a few places but was closed & we ended up at Coffee Island.

The day before CNY;

Morning, went to BatuGantung to pray my late Grandfather.

Came home around lunch time & helped out at home. Didn't quite help much actually. ;p

In the evening, it was our family reunion dinner. Had steamboat, ate too much & was bloated. Lol.

Spent the night at home watching tv with family & online. Nothing much we did that night.

All time favourite, home-cooked JiuHuChar & KiamCai Soup!

First day of CNY;

Happy Valentines Day! It falls on the same day & some won't get to celebrate. Poor couples.

Anyway, first day of CNY is like the most boring day of CNY. There's nothing that excites me, except the AngPao part.

Woke up in the morning ~~feeling like P.Diddy..~~ & got ready, everyone dressed to their nines on the first day of the new year.

Headed AyerItam to visit some relatives, which took us almost the whole morning from one house to another.

Around 12pm, headed Grandma's place at FettesPark for lunch & did the usual thing you know, every year.. the same thing..

Finally got home around 3pm & moreeee relatives came over. They practically filled up my whole house & the kids were unbearable. *annoyed*

Those relatives were super long winded I tell you! They were here from 3pm to almost 6pm! Pfft.

Spent the night at home & went to bed early. Was really tired.

Mummy pretty lo! Better don't let her see this.

Second day of CNY;

Cousins & relatives came over for lunch & dinner. We're always fed with super yummy food during CNY. Lol.

After lunch, Mom, Aunt, Sis & I went to Hillside for Mom's high school gathering.

Collected a few more AngPaos. =D But of course there was a price to pay - to listen to the Aunties gossiping. -.-

Later in the evening, Carmen joined us for dinner at home.

Headed Coffee Island later & met up with Colin, Javen, Anas & Greg.

Around 10pm, left for Greg's house & met up with others there. Gambled.. Zzz*

Left for Nga Residence later on, for their open house. We were served with Nasi Lemak! Love the chicken wings. But no Vege balls this year. :(

Anyway, girls being girls, had fun catching up & taking pictures.

Later in the afternoon, went to Bed to chill as Tett was leaving that evening.

Around 5pm, Carmen & I got back to my place & the boys came over to gamble, Shindee joined as well.

Met up with the Hongkies with family at Mama's for Nyonya Cuisine during dinner & headed QEII later at night.

Went back to Carmen's place afterwards & Cleo, Joan, Charlene, Jeremy, Yj, Khang & WeiXian visited.

In the evening, we went to Colin's place for his farewell. He'll be leaving for Melb this Saturday! =(

Had quite a lot to eat at his place, & something you won't miss, gambling! Lol.

Celebrated my birthday in Chili's with Adelyn, RouYi, YongShen, JooLing & HuiMin.

They got me a cake from BreadHistory. yummy* Aunty Janice came later on, to take pictures for us. :)

Around evening, met up with Joan, Cleo & Ruby. Had dinner in Nando's.

They got me another cake! Cheese cake this time. =D

After dinner, chilled awhile then Joan & Cleo left with their parents.

Ruby & I met up with CK, Nicholas, Greg, Khang & the rest of the group in Coffee Bean, Island Plaza.

Got home before midnight & went to school the next morning for replacement class. -.-

Enjoyed myself & enjoyed the different groups of companies. Thanks loves! :)

Went to 1885 in Eastern & Oriental Hotel for dinner. It was an early birthday dinner for me.

Mom won't be around on the actual day. The food was nice, everything was great. :)

Turning 17 this year, guess things are about to change. May it be better or worse, will still have to go through it.

Sunday, received the news about them missing. Worried, broke down. Hoped that they will be found alive.

Monday, went to school, those who knew them couldn't stand it & cried. After school, stood at the gate, we heard about the news. Tears uncontrollably rolled down. Couldn't take it, couldn't accept the truth.

Brendon, I've known him for ten years, since primary one. His school number was 00001. He was one of the cheekiest, other than PeeLi. I was the monitor of the class & I remember I often had to jot down their numbers. Since all of us went our separate ways to different high schools, we gather at least once a year. Although all of us don't hang out often, but we've never forgotten each other. In December 2009, we organized a hotel stay. We had fun, we talked about stories that happened in primary school & shared our stories that happened in our high school years. That was the last day I saw, and talked to YiZhang, another boy whom I've known since primary 4. I remember the last time I was with Brendon was two weeks ago, in Malaysian German Society. We were looking at the notices posted on the notice boards. The notice says 'Mandarin Tutor Available'. There are Mandarin characters printed on the notice, such as '好' & the explanation to the word was 'daughter and son', '男' which was explained as 'man working on a paddy field' & many more. I laughed at the explanations & Brendon turned to me & laughed "Hahaha now only you know?" I left after that, & that was the last time I saw him. German class would be totally different without him. Oktoberfest 2010, will be different without him. YiZhang complained to us that Oktoberfest was too noisy & he couldn't sleep because of the noise as his house is just behind MGS. Will always remember the PingPong days I had with YiZhang & ZiJun back in primary, we even made it to the state level & I still have the t-shirt with me.

Finally got to watch New Moon. Been anticipating to watch it but.. I was disappointed in the movie. Lol.

New Moon's boring compared to Twilight, I like Twilight more.

Carmen picked me up from home around 4.30pm. Met up with Greg & Colin at Gurney.

Thank god Joan was there earlier, she managed to get us the tickets. Love her!

After the movie the boys went to PC Fair whereas Carmen, Joan, Ruby, LinKai & I had dinner @ Northam Beach Cafe.

I woke up so early! 7am. Got ready & headed to Federal Driving School at Hutton Lane.

Marcus was there earlier than me, waited for the rest & they brought us to Pusat Memandu Mutiara, long journey, opposite Tesco Extra.

& of course it was boring. Luckily I was there with a friend, it'll be worse if I went alone.

Walked across to Tesco Extra for lunch during the break. Ate at the food court. Lol

It lasted for more than five hours. Went to Gurney with Mom & Sis after that.

Well yeaaah, it's December already. Sorry that i've been slacking. Been going out too much. =x

It was a Tuesday, Carmen's parents had their day-off. Mom came up with an idea of having lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, Penang.

None of us have been there, so no harm visiting.

Reached Hard Rock around 1pm, went around & took pictures & had lunch.

After lunch, we went back to Carmen's house whereas our moms went for massage. Chilled there awhile & went to Winter Warmers for a drink.

Monday, 30th November '09

Woke up at 8am. Had breakfast with Greg, Carmen & Jonas, from Nz.

Went to two stalls of Hokkien Mee, but one was closed & the other had to wait for half an hour.

Ended up having Mee Goreng at Larut Road. Chilled at Carmen's house after that.

Got home around 12pm, went to Batu Lancang market with mom.

After dinner, went to Coffee Island with Carmen & our sisters. Went home around 11.30pm.

Woke up early for tennis. Came home & rest for awhile.

Mom cooked Spaghetti & Potato with Bacon soup for lunch. Ate a little before going out.

Greg picked me up around 1.30pm, headed Queensbay to fetch his NewZealand friends.

Brought them to New World Park for hawker food & went to Gurney to watch Ninja Assassin.

After the movie met up with Joan, Cleo, Carmen & Ruby at Winter Warmers. Went back to Sega to join the NZ people later & met Joey & Aunty Janice. :) Brought NZ peeps to Northam Beach Cafe for dinner together with Carmen & Khang.

The story line was so-so. & If you can't stand blood, don't watch. lol

It was our last day in Singapore. Siobhan woke us up when she came back from kindy, cuteee!

Took pictures with her before we went out. The three of us were gona leave for Penang the next morning.

We decided to go back to Marche @ Vivo City for lunch, since we couldn't think of other places.

Shopped in Vivo City & Carmen went back from there. Sis & I went to Ion on the way home to get Bengawan Solo. Had Spanish Cuisine for dinner with the Murrays at Clarke Quay.

Woke up around 10am & headed out around 12pm. We went to Iluma, by cab. Nothing much in there so we decided to go Bugis St.

Later, we went to BenTen Cafe for Japanese Ice Cream. yummy*

We walked from Bugis St. to Central. On our way, saw the National Library, it's huge!

Had J.Co Donuts at Central & chilled there for awhile. Went Ion to shop after that.

After Ion, went Takashimaya, then Vivo City for dinner. Mall hopping? Lol.

Went Clarke Quay after dinner. Got home around 12am.

School's out! It was the first day of our six-weeks-holiday.

Sis & I decided to go Singapore to visit the Murrays & Carmen. :)

We took Jetstar, the flight was around 9am. Arrived in Singapore an hour later.

Aunt Angie brought Siobhan along to pick us up from Changi Airport. Went back to freshen up ourselves & headed Takashimaya for lunch.

Met up with ShuWern after lunch, chilled in Coffee Bean. Miss her!

Around evening, went home for a rest & Carmen came over. We went to FarEast plaza for manicure & had dinner at Ion.

Went home early as I wasn't feeling well. Slept really early.

Watched the Inglorious Basterds, The Time Traveler's Wife with family & 2012 with friends. Miss my bitches though. :(

Inglorious Basterds was so-so, don't quite like it, too much talking. The Time Traveler's Wife was sad, but a lil boring.

Didn't have to wake up earlier, tennis was canceled. Yay.

Stayed home till around 4.30pm, then YonJian & Greg picked me & Khang up & headed Gurney.

Had TomYam Noodles @ Food Court & met up with ShinDee & her friend, WeiWei.

Met Joan & Brandon awhile, Javen came later. Movie was at 6.15pm. Thank god they went to get 2012 tickets earlier, the queue was omg-ly long.

Around 10pm, went to Farlim for chu-char & went home.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Tennis early in the morning, got home and took a nap. Woke up around 12pm, had no lunch at home so got ready to go eat.

Around 2.30pm, Greg & Khang came to fetch me. Went for MeeRebus @ Larut Road.

Met up with their friends later, wanted to film some video for some project. O.O

Went up to Pearl Hill for awhile, the houses there are so niceee. :(

Got back home around 5pm, everyone had their own stuff to do in the evening.

I changed & headed Malaysian German Society for Oktoberfest! Volunteered to work that night. My job was to serve the VIPs.

Free food, free beer. Crazy night I would say. It was overall a great experience though. It lasted till almost 2am.

It was the day of SmartNite '09. Well, it was held in Eastern & Oriental Hotel.

Accordingly, we took the shortest time to prepare this year. It all turned out well. There were performances by students from respective forms.

We went to E&O for rehearsal at 11am, then got our make-up and hair done at KuangYee later.

Chilled in McD for awhile before heading to E&O for the evening.

Woke up, left for lunch in Dome with cousies & shopping for the party.

Last day here in Perth. No big plans for today, as in somewhere far to go or whatever.

Took our time, got ready & went Joy Garden in Northbridge for breakfast. The dim sum there were good, no doubts.

Drove around the city for awhile & headed Burswood Entertainment Complex.

Explored the place for awhile, then headed to the casino. First timer. Great experience though.

Later on, headed Harbour Town, where the outlets were located. Didn't manage to find anything nice.

Had dinner in Tony Roma's & then margarita @ The Moon.

Woke up, had breakfast. Left early, headed Fremantle. It rained awhile on our journey there, it was sunny later on.

Went home in the afternoon to rest for awhile. Headed the city later on.

Went to Murray Street Mall, it was the late-night-shopping day. Shops were opened till 9pm, only on Fridays. Zzz*

Got back to the apartment just in time for dinner. Supposed to meet up w/ VJ, but couldn't make it. ;(

Woke up around 9am, got ready, had breakfast & all, left for Swan Valley Drive around 10am.
Took us around an hour or more than that to get there, had to ask for directions. lol

Anyway, we visited the vineyard, chocolate factory & a nougat house.

It was pretty much interesting, & you get to taste different types of chocolate in the factory. ;p

Weather was alright, it was 21 degree Celcius. Dad woke us up at 8am, to go for grocery shopping.

Went to the supermarket - IGA which was 3 minutes drive away from our place.

Dad made us breakfast. I had egg & mushroom with toast. ;]

After everyone got ready, we headed Kings Park. Nothing much but the scenery's beautiful.

Went home for a rest in the afternoon & later on Mum, Sis, Aunt & I took ferry from across Swan River & took a bus to Murray Street.

Planned to shop but the shops were closed & it was only 5pm. Zzz*

Stayed in for dinner. & had Strawberries for dessert, super big ones!

Woke up at 4.30am, showered & got ready. Made sure everything I need is in the luggage, then headed the airport.

Arrived in KLIA around 8am, waited for a few hours before our next flight to Perth, Australia.

After five hours of flight from KL, we finally arrived in Perth. =S

Rent a car & headed the apartment in South Perth. Went to James Street, Northbridge for dinner - chinese food. Zzz*

Well, I watched Harry Potter with loved ones as they promised.

Went tennis as usual in the morning. Got home, rest & got ready. It was a no-transport day, Joan & I took so long to get to Gurney.

Bernard & Daniel picked Yang & I up, parked their car somewhere near CPT & we walked to Gurney.

Around 5 in the evening, Emily, Cleo, Jeremy & Charlene arrived. Bought tickets & Joan suggested for a smaller cinema, we had the whole cinema to ourselves & the other two couples.

After the movie, met up with Ruby, Tim & Davison. Dined in Breeks.

Everyone followed me home around 11pm. Thanks Jon!

Didn't manage to get any picture of them though.

Got there after a light lunch at home. We dined at the HongKong restaurant with superb egg tarts! argh, love 'em.

After the egg tarts, we went to breeks for dessert. Went online for awhile.

So I went to school this morning as usual, & when I started doing my work I realized that it's 7th of July!

I remembered two years back, 7th of July 2007, which was a very unique date, I had steamboat with a few of my closest friends who are Carmen, Ruby & two other guys. Imagine how fast time flies. heh

So, I watched Transformers the other day.

Oh god, you better go watch it if you still haven't. I love it!

& another must-watch will be showing next week, which is Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince!

Watched Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Don't quite like though, I prefer Ice Age 2. ;]

Wish to have the time to watch Obsessed & The Proposal soon. heh

Went to school as usual. Early dismissal so got back home earlier than usual. After lunch I called Carmen. *clickable!*

Got up early, prepared & went for tennis. Sister had to attend some school camp so the whole one hour I had to play non-stop.

Almost killed me. =S Anyway, that didn't stop me from going out. =D

Rest for awhile & got ready. Carmen picked me up around 1pm, dropped Charles to Yamaha, then headed Gurney.

Both of us had Nando's for lunch. Brought my laptop out too, purpose was to teach Carmen how to use Nuffnang. ==

Met up with Ruby, Linkai & Aunty Lilie for awhile.

Bought the stuff I needed to make Dad's Father's Day Present too. Met up with Joan, Cleo *clickable!* & Jeremy at Starbucks & later on moved to Breeks as Starbucks have limited power point to charge my laptop. Stayed in Breeks until 7pm & I left to Kim Gary for dinner with family.

1/4 Chicken with two sidelines. =D

Woke up early around 12pm, had BM tuition at 2 to 4pm.

Didn't do much after that. Around 6pm, Cleo, Ruby, Carmen & Jeremy came over.

Went out for dinner after that, headed New World Park for Old Town.

I had Nasi Rendang & Kaya Butter Toast. ;] We had Haagen Dazs for dessert.

Had tuition early in the morning, after that headed Gurney to watch Terminator with Carmen, Cheng & Constance. All the C's. lol

The show was alright. After the movie Dad picked us all up & headed to Carmen's house.

We had steamboat there, Khang, Ruby, Cleo & Jeremy dropped by later on.

& yeah, Carmen's back. Didn't talk much the night before as we were all so busy messing around. lol

She went to the driving school in the morning, then had dinner with her family.. busy girl.

So after her dinner, Khang picked her up from Penang Swimming Club & came over to my place.

We went for supper later on & was back before midnight. Later on we Skyped that Loner NewZealander - Gregory. Poor boy. haha!

Funny stories were told, laughed out loud man. They left later around 1am.

Was woken up by my alarm clock, around 1pm. Was worried that my Tutor would show up without prior notice.

Anyway, she didn't show up so I went out with Joan & Charlene. Headed Gurney.

Ordered something light for my stomach in Breeks. ;]

Met Carmen & her PengHwa friends there too. Aunty Sabrina picked Carmen & I up and headed their house. We decorated Carmen's phone. lol

Got up quite early, did some packing then got ready for the flight to go back to Penang!

Went to IFC Mall, Central for the Apple Store. Shopped there for awhile.

Woke up quite early, headed to a restaurant nearby to have Dim Sum.

Went shopping later in the afternoon with mom & sis whereas dad had to attend some meeting.

Yes, I skipped school. Got up early in the morning for the flight.

Reached the airport around 7am, checked in & we had breakfast at McD. Our flight departed at 8.10am & arrived in HongKong around 12pm.

Mom wasn't home yet, she was at work. So Dad, Sister & I went to the immigration office to collect our visa.

It was a Friday & mom was back. She tried the Lakme products on me. *points above*

Later on, we dropped sister to Yamaha & we headed Gurney to get some stuff.

We had dinner in Korean Palace in Tanjung Tokong, with Grandma & Aunt.

I had Bimbimbak, the so called stone rice. The food was so so, I prefer Japanese Food. lol

Headed Dewan Sri Pinang. Joan didn't join us cause she had something else to do.

It was still early when we got there so we decided to eat something.

Dined in Straight's Kitchen, which is just next to my school.

At 8pm, the concert started.
